His Legacy… Denver Carl Jones, 81, passed away September 9, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1942, in London, Kentucky to Cecil Jones and Hettie (McFadden) Jones and raised as a Southern Baptist. He loved the outdoors, hunting and enjoyed walking. He will be remembered as a man with a unique sense of humor and was a dedicated, sports fan cheering on his favorite basketball team, University of Kentucky. Denver was devoted to NASCAR racing and loved other sports too. In his younger days, he was great at bowling. His passion in life was spending time with his family and friends, helping them with building projects whenever possible. Denver worked as a carpenter alongside his brothers, and was a proud member of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, Detroit Local 687 for nearly 60 years. He worked in major cities across the state of Michigan, creating many of the beautiful skylines that you see today. He was a very motivated and dedicated man with a great work ethic. His greatest companion was his rescue dog, Lucky, because they were both lucky to have found each other.
His Family… Denver will be greatly missed by his children, Sharon Jones, Sheila Jones, Denver Jones Jr., Clayton Jones; daughter-in-law, Paula Jones; siblings, Lathal Jones, Roy Jones, Deloris Linville; grandchildren, Amber, Mitchell, Amanda, Benny, Bradley, Morgan, Cara; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Hettie Jones; Sons, Kenny Jones, Benny Jones; son-in-law, Jeffrey Pate; Siblings, Betty Jones, Billy Jones, Gerald Jones (of Kentucky), Cecile Asher.
