Tommy R. Ritter, 68, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of Tanya Prater Ritter.
Tommy was born on August 6, 1956 in Cawood (Harlan Co.), Kentucky, and was the son of Tommy A. and Georgia Napier Ritter, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a retired trooper with Kentucky State Police Post # 11 in London. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman, and loved both hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working on hot rod and classic cars, as well as taking his jeep to the creek. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his kids, and he loved visiting with his KSP brothers and sharing what they called their “War Stories”.
In addition to his wife, Tanya, he is survived by: one son, Austin Ritter (Ciara); two daughters, Tessa Berry (Jonathan) and Jessica Lear (Ben); and two granddaughters, Ariya and Eleanor.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Chaplain James Hodge officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Greg Speck, Joel Woods, Jim Hyde, David Worley, Anthony Phillips, James Hasty, and John Decker.
