Stanley John “Teeter” Lombardi was born September 23, 1937, in a midwife’s home in Vallecito CA, second child to Hilda (Degen) and Stanly “Corkey” Lombardi. When Stanley was 8, he was blessed with brother Timothy and again blessed at 10 with sister Julie. At 14 he started working at the Mountain Ranch Sawmill and continued working there and West Point Sawmill throughout high school. Stanley graduated from Calaveras High School in 1955.  During his high school career, he played football and competed in track events.  After high school, Stanley worked at Toyon Lumber Mill until he was drafted into the US Army in 1960.  Stanley proudly served his county at Fort Myer in Arlington VA leaving with an honorable discharge in 1962, rank E-5.  Once out of the Army, he went to Florida to try his luck on a commercial fishing boat. It wasn’t too long though, and home was calling him, he moved back in 1964. Shortly after, Stanley asked La Vada Wear to marry him, and on February 14, 1965, they were married.  Stanley went to work for LaVada’s father Red Wear at his Shell Oil Co. delivering oil and gasoline.  This eventually grew into a managerial position as the company changed hands several times. In 1970 Stanley and LaVada’s daughter Denise was born and in 1973 their 2nd daughter Glenda was born.

Stanley was a member of the San Andreas Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was involved in countless community fundraisers and events. He loved playing, coaching, watching and umpiring softball.  Woodworking, playing his guitar, cooking and yard projects were other passions of his.  His biggest joy, however, was being around his family and friends, whether it be a small get together or a big party, Stanley was in his element.

Stanley “Teeter” passed peacefully surrounded by his family on December 2, 2024.

Stanley is survived by his Wife La Vada, Daughter Denise Bettencourt (Dan), Son-in-Law Daniel Prevost, Grandson Joseph Griswold, Great-Grandchildren Evamarie, Samantha and Timothy, unofficially adopted Daughter Connie Shawfar (VanBrocklin), Sister Julie Hewitt, Sister-in-Law Ella Lombardi (Kravitz), Nephews Louis Lombardi, Leonard Johnston (Marry Ann), Barry Johnston (Staci), Troy Johnston (Cindy), David Miller, Nieces Cindy Engstrom (John) and Tarra Ormand (Bob) and many great and great-great Nephews and Nieces and countless Cousins.
