William Berlin Whitis, son of the late Johnny and Lydia (Cornett) Whitis, was born July 30, 1936, in London, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Juanita (Hicks) Whitis who precedes him in death.
He is survived by his children; Carvel Whitis and wife Tammy of Manchester, Kentucky, Calvin Whitis and wife Jenny of Lexington, Kentucky, Darlene Roberts and husband Roy of London, Kentucky, and Irene Patton and husband Joey of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was blessed with nine grandchildren; Carmen Fields and husband Travis of Manchester, Kentucky, Chase Whitis and wife Brandy of Manchester, Kentucky, Brandon Whitis and wife Brooke of Stafford, Virginia, Jerad Whitis and wife Alicia of Tampa, Florida, Austin Roberts and special friends Grace, Jake Roberts and wife Renee of London, Kentucky, John Patton and wife LJ of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Chuck McKnight and wife Melissa of Aiken, South Carolina, and Kelsey Fondow and husband Michael of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was also blessed with twenty great-grandchildren of whom he loved dearly, as well as caretakers Donna and Sara.
He was a truck driver and a farmer, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Besides his parents and spouse, he is also preceded in death by his siblings Mack Whitis, Ella Mae Hammons, Dorothy Proffitt, Wilma Bernice Marin, and Alpha Dunn.
William Berlin Whitis departed this life on Thursday, October 03, 2024, being 88 years, 2 months, and 4 days of age.
Funeral services for William Berlin Whitis will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, in London Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Wayne House officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family of William Berlin Whitis will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00pm Monday, October 7th, 2024. Serving as pallbearers will be: Chase Whitis, Brandon Whitis, Jerad Whitis, Austin Roberts, Jake Roberts, Josh Patton, Travis Fields, and Michael Fondow.
