We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved father Bill Jones on December 14, 2024, at the age of 92. Bill was born in Atkins, Arkansas to Flora and William J. Jones II. Their family later moved to Richmond, California. Bill met and married his wife, Dorothie French, and they moved to Martinez, California in 1960. Bill worked in the fencing industry, and later became the owner of Alta Fence Company. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed boating, motorcycles, Model T cars, and dining out at all his favorite restaurants.
Bill is survived by his children Cathy, David, John, Kelli (Shawn Swihart), and Deann (Alan Fulkerson); 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his wife Dorothie, parents Flora and William, and brother Kenneth.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, from 12pm – 5 p.m. Martinez Yacht Club, 111 Tarantino Dr., Martinez, CA 94553. Lunch will be served at 1:00pm. Please text or call daughter Kelli at 925-766-8584 by 1/4/25 if you will attend.
